This Ellis 28 Lobsteryacht is equipped with the highly regarded Cummins 210 diesel, which gives this Ellis 20 a cruise speed of 15-16 knots with a top end of 20 knots. CURRENT LOCATION:  Spruce Head Marine – about 10 miles south of Rockland, Maine. 

BUILD SPECIFICATIONS

HULL: Hand-laid solid fiberglass with four 2″x 6″ stringers and 3/4″ marine plywood main bulkhead, spray rails, white hull with a red boot.

DECK & TOPSIDES: Fiberglass, with non-skid surface, over marine plywood, three front windows, with four opening portlights, tan cabin decks with contrasting non-skid, two deck plates for access to fuel senders, two deck plates for access to swim platform mounting hardware, Bomar hatches in cabin and shelter tops.

COCKPIT and SHELTER: Non-skid fiberglass over 3/4″ marine plywood with fiberglass hatches, flush deck from cockpit to shelter (for max headroom), insulated engine box/seating with cushion, 4-foot long gunwale storage lockers – 2 on port and 2 on stbd, opening front shelter windows with windshield wipers, custom teak storage at helm area.

CABIN: 6’ Headroom, Center Bomar hatch, chain/pope locker forward with access door, companionway all trimmed in teak, teak and holly cabin sole, V-berth with teak trim and cypress sheathing, v-berth filler, v-berth cushions, teak trimmed headliner.

GALLEY: Galley with cabinetry, red Formica countertops, stainless sink, 25 gals pressurized fresh water system, Seaward gimbaled one-burner stove, Koolmatic refer – 3.9 cubic Inch (new 2003), teak drawers, storage cabinets, paper towel holder, dish/cup holder/racks. NOTE: There is space for a water heater – the previous water heater was removed by the owner. 

HEAD: Separate enclosed head with a teak door, class III marine head (Groco – 2004) and holding tank (40 gals), s/s sink, teak TP holder, teak cabinet, teak framed mirror, teak and holly floor, headliner similar to the cabin.

MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL: 1989 CUMMINS 6BT5.9-M 5.9L 210hp Turbo Diesel (with 2745 hours), cooling vents – 2 sides and transom vent aft, Groco intake water filter, bronze seacock with Groco by-pass valve for emergency bilge pump, twin disk transmission (M6506) with trolling valve, stainless steel destroyer-type wheel with hydraulic steering, independent deep cycle house and starting batteries with 4-position battery switch, a 12-volt system with 2 circuit breaks panels, a grounded system with zinc and mounting plate, Rule1000 bilge pump with auto and 3-way panel switch, nav lights, two dome lights, 110v shore power with GFI circuit, 50’ power cord, one dual 15 amp battery charger, Anco six throw breaker panel, five 12 volt receptacles, two bilge pumps on separate circuits.

ELECTRONICS & NAVIGATION: Garmin 740S charter plotter & sounder w/Safe Route and Sonar, Bluechart G2Vision auto guidance, VHF – Cobra with GPS, Raymarine autopilot, air horns, stereo with 4 speakers, Globemaster compass.

HARDWARE & ACCESSORIES: Two each of 6″ Skene bow chocks, 8″ stern cleats, 8″ spring line cleats, one 5×5 bow mooring bit and anchor rope deck pipe all chrome plated bronze, PVC guard and toe rails, teak handrails and trim on cabin, solid teak swim platform with weaver davits and ladder, stainless bow rail, pulpit, manual anchor system – Fortress anchor with 30 feet of chain and 200 feet of line, cockpit wash-down, four stainless rod holders, canvas: side and backdrop off shelter plus complete aft enclosure, two helmsman seats with quick disconnect, hot/cold transom shower.
