ACCOMMODATIONS
The interior is finished in varnished teak. There are solid teak decks throughout the boat — cockpit, deckhouse and belowdecks. Custom Ellis Boat Company aft enclosure allows both shelter and an open layout to the cockpit. The deckhouse/shelter include three flush hatches over the engine. The center hatch is hinged with hydraulic lifters, for quick engine checks. The side hatches provide full inspection and repairs of all systems, including batteries, water heater, tanks… To port are an L-shaped settee and partial bulkhead to the cockpit. A large window is above the bulkhead which folds away to the side, creating a completely open space. A dining table with a folding leaf is mounted at the settee. This drops down to allow the settee to become a double berth. Forward of the settee is a double sized mate seat. The starboard side, aft, is open for the placement of deck chairs. As with the port side of the aft enclosure, the door is divided, and both sections fold away to the side, creating a fully open area for entering the deckhouse, and extension of the cockpit for “picnic boating” with friends. Forward on the starboard side is the helm position. Instruments, electronics and switches/controls are well laid out for ease of operation. The steering wheel is a beautiful, varnished ship spoke wheel. The helm seat is mounted on a pedestal and is fully adjustable. Ventilation in the deck house is excellent, via all 3 opening windshields, 4 side windows, with screens, that slide open, and the entire aft enclosure as described above. There are also custom designed privacy screens for all of the deckhouse windows. The companionway to the forward cabin has a well-conceived pocket door and a folding/removable hatch above. Descending 3 steps, one will find a large, “U” shaped galley to port. The spacious countertop includes a SS sink aft, served by hot and cold pressure water. A non-pressurized alcohol flush two burner stove is flush mounted in the middle. Forward is an under the counter electric refrigerator with a freezer section. Numerous lockers are found outboard of the countertop and underneath. To starboard, opposite the galley, is the enclosed head area. An enormous forward area includes v-berths port and starboard. A filler cushion completes the berth forming a double. There are shelves port and starboard above the berths and storage underneath. 3 opening ports and an overhead hatch allow great ventilation throughout the cabin.

OTHER INFORMATION
Rosebud received a major re-fit in 2006 which included new deckhouse windows, re-painting in AwlGrip of the entire deck and superstructures, and painting the hull in AwlGrip Black. At this time an Evolution Drive system was added, which reduces vibration and quiets the sound level in a vessel considerably. Rosebud’s exterior teak includes toe rails, rub rails, hand rails, and Ellis trademark cabin eyebrow/deckhouse trim, and all are finished in Sikkens Cetol for ease of maintenance. Rosebud has been continually stored inside during the off seasons, and gently cruised the waters of Mid-Coast Maine summers.
